CSS Arrows / Pointer Tutorial

Arrows, pointers, triangles, whatever you wish to call this technique you will end up making a pure CSS arrow; graphics are forbidden! The process is actually extremely simple, the basic idea is that you you set a nice fat border then remove the side you wish the arrow to point to. Example Code .right-arrow...

Evony 100,000 Prestige Noob

Let's set things straight right off; I do not think prestige is important for judging someone's abilities in game, it has its uses but for the most part it means nothing.  This guide is to explain how prestige works and how easily it can be gained.

By the end of this guide hopefully I will have explained well enough for someone to follow the same steps and reach over 100,000 prestige before beginner protection wears off without spending a single dollar.

Let's get the screen shot out of the way, everyone want's to see the goods first so here is one of three; they can all be found in neat-n-tidy little links at the bottom of the article.

im a noob

There are three basic and very important rules for pulling this off:

  • Do NOT upgrade your town hall past level two
  • Do NOT go past the rank AND title of Civilian, ever.
  • Make sure you can monitor the account and keep your build queues full

The first two rules deal with game mechanics, it is a fact that with each upgrade of the Town Hall and with each Rank/Title increase you receive less prestige for performing the same actions as a lower ranking individual with a crappy Town Hall. I guess this is their way of trying tie it back to a real world sort of understanding; for example if the President builds a school we say great he's doing his job. If Joe Blow collects money, coordinates volunteer help, and erects a school he is a hero; same sort of concept in evony, except there are way more swords in our little world.

The third rule comes down to time management really, obviously the more you build the more prestige you get, and after the first three days or so you will start to pull ahead of the other llamas gaining prestige faster and in larger quantities as d-day approaches.

Enough with the babbling, this is for the most part what I did to achieve my 100k+ before protection wore off.

  • Upgraded to Town Hall lvl2 at the last possible moment
  • Never accepted the promotion quests
  • Built 15 cottages to populate my workforce
  • Built 4 of every resource type ( see photo for levels ), and maxed out as much as I could with the population I have
  • Built 1 of every other building type ( except warehouse of course )
  • Researched non-stop, first focusing on the resource enhancements.
  • Bought low / sold high on the market to help when times got tough

Here are my research and wall stats to hopefully show I do come out of noob mode with fists in the air.

    Academy

  • Agriculture 6
  • Lumbering 6
  • Masonry 6
  • Mining 6
  • Metal Casting 4
  • Informatics 6
  • Military Science 5
  • Military Tradition 5
  • Iron Working 4
  • Logistics 3
  • Compass 5 ( don't hate, it's my next project )
  • Horseback Riding 1
  • Archery 6
  • Medicine 3
  • Construction 3
  • Engineering 2
    Wall lvl7

  • Trade 300
  • Abatis 300
  • Archery Tower 3300

This would be way more successful if you have a feeder account on the same server, or in other words someone to keep feeding you resources to make up for our smaller plots.

Damn, that was extremely simple. I'm running on empty here ( 112+ hour work week for the last two weeks ), I apologize for any grammatical issues I will clean it up when I clear my head in a week or so.

thanks for your response!

I am wondering, what order should i do this in?

There really is no order to follow except what the game allows. I'm assuming you are pretty new to the game; I would suggest playing around with the mechanics and get a feel for how it works before getting in over your head.

so what should i do after bp? cos we would need an army to attack enemies...should i upgrade to lvl 3 TownHall?

yea what happens after BP? wont we need an army?

As soon a BP ran out I kept going just as I had since the first day of building, but I was also in the #6 guild and in a great location fairly distant from any enemies; I didn't have to worry about people attacking me.

If you feel safe I would keep going like normal and start building up your army at a rate that doesn't decrease your resource / building construction. If you aren't in that sort of situation then I would focus heavily on filling up your wall and make sure the wall is the highest level possible. With a low level TH and constantly using up all your resources players should have NO reason to attack you ( keeping the tower queue full gives great prestige when it finishes with a low level TH ).

Before I quit I had a level 4 TH with a couple level 9 barracks and 4 level 6. I was starting to pump out an army and had around 250k~ prestige. I was able to take down level 4 NPCs without any issue, but at this point I was starting to focus more on actually accomplishing something in game; something you probably won't do if you focus 100% on prestige.

Short and sweet, if you are ready to start backing up what your prestige says you are worth then YES start upgrading your TH and pumping out those little men.

hehe thanks man

Does it matter if thiers any order in the the prestige build process?

Can you tell me what buildings/units/resource fields u had before upgrading TH to lv 2?

To an certain point yes. The first thing you need to do is build up your resource fields and cottages, once you've hit a wall with those then start building the other buildings. Once you've plateaued on this round of building you upgrade to TH 2 and start over with focusing on maxing out resources and cottages again.

If you take a look at the one of the screen shots it shows my city layout; I had one of every building possible with a TH level 1. Going off my last reply, first max out your resource fields and cottages then build the remaining structures up to a point where you are plateaued enough to require TH lvl 2. When you've plateaued with TH lvl 2 ( which shouldn't be until you're well out of noob mode ) then upgrade to TH lvl 3.

Basically every TH upgrade repeats the whole building process.

So the first thing we should focues is on upgrading are quarrys and research them?

If So would i still be able to get to atleast 90-100k prestige even if i didnt play every day?
But most?

You might be able to get close to 90k. The most important days are near the beginning when you are constantly building and setting yourself up a stable base to rocket yourself up. When I went through this the majority of my prestige came within the last 3 days when I was hitting level9 on buildings, 7 or 8 on wall, and 7-9 on research.

For your other question I would definitely focus on getting resources and resource research maxed out first.

s0 after bp ends go to TH lvl 3? i cant play much only 4 hrs a day..will that get me to 80k prestige in 1 week? cos b4 i played non -stop since i had no school and i got to 111k prestige but idk bout only 4 hrs a day

If you have limited play time I would definitely get your TH raised as quickly as you can and focus on your forces / defenses, unless of course you believe you will not be attacked at all.

Great ideas, thank you.
I wonder if the game has changed at all though. I just started, and you can't build an academy and do research until your TH is a level 2.

I do not believe that has changed; I'm pretty sure I built my academy after TH 2, you end up upgrading your TH after 1-2 day(s) of play.

I have been on the game for so long let i dont know anything its a working progress i am a host and cant always answer every question so dont woory
town hall has to be on lvl 2 to get an embassy

Just started this, but what did you do on your down time? I seem to have a lot of it, waiting on resources...

I didn't have a lot of downtime, I invested resources in the market and had a pretty even flow coming in at all times from it. Buy low, sell higher; if you are watching the market constantly it's easy to make money off of it and you just get more in return as you keep reinvesting larger quantities.

alright, I'm still getting used to all this, I have larger accounts, but I never mastered the buy low, sell high thing in the market. I've been tempted to just make an account in your server :P

kidding, btw

so you dont want to take over cities after bp?

why does your city view show you have no walls ?

Boss, it will take some time to attack cities but this by no means makes you too weak to do so; but that is a side note as this article was completely about gaining prestige and how people should not judge someones strength alone from it.

When I played, the city view walls did not grow unless your TH did, my TH was level two.

what order did you build everything?

I have a question. You have a level 6 academy in the picture and you say you researched Engineering level 2 but the game requires you to have a level 8 academy to research Engineering. Did you downgrade your academy or is the Engineering level 2 a typo?

@Brandon, I would say it was a typo, I am fairly sure I would not have down graded it, or the game rules might have changed since this happened.

well this is great although i have 4million prestige and 10 cities once you get out of bp find an area where theres nobody within 25miles and build a city there just to be safe and start there but keep your mouth quiet and just build as he said

Dude this is all wrong you would have gotten that same prestige or close to it if you promoted in rank. Rank has no effect on prestige what so ever.

Your prestige came from all your level 8 level 9 buildings and the amount of time you put into the game

Unless the game mechanics have changed you are wrong. Rank has an incredible effect on prestige and building a level 8 or 9 building ( which does grant a ton of prestige ) at the lowest rank / TH possible provides the most prestige.

The way the system worked when I played basically stated that if you build a castle as a king no one cares, you're a king, it's expected. If you build a castle as a peasant it is a huge accomplishment as you should not have the resources or power to do so.

I ran two accounts and logged the data between both, you can say what you want but I had proof that there was an enormous difference that grew exponentially as the building levels grew based on rank AND TH.

Chelfers, what do you mean when you say you never accepted the promotion quests? Does that mean you never took the awards from quests?

@Noctis, exactly! When you accept the award you move up in rank, the higher your rank the less prestige you get for the same action taken by a lower rank.

how did u keep up the resource demand

also i have 2 accounts i am doing this experiment on and one has over 500 prestige extra and they have the exact buildings and levels

how did u keep getting the resources for research and construction

@Kandy, I played the market constantly. Could make easy money buying low and selling high; the market was extremely volatile changing about every 10-20 minutes.

ifound it hard without my townhall at level 2 and then i did that 1 hour ago and have level 3 agriculture and level 2 lumbering for both cities done. Did u keep working on ur resource fields continously to get them at levels 6-7-8-9, mine r only at 4-5

sorry about asking too many questions, but how did u work on ur defences and army
